Anomos is a modified BitTorrent client and tracker which borrows some tricks from TOR (The Onion Router) to provide anonymity and strong encryption to its users.

The full protocol specification, as well as an academic paper on the level of anonymity Anomos provides, are currently being drafted and an alpha release of the software is expected shortly. Once that happens we’ll be looking for volunteers to help test the network in preparation for widespread deployment.

The project is open source and supported by the NLNet Foundation, so if you’re a Python wizard and want to donate some time to the project email me: john [at] anomos [dot] info. If you’re really good we might even be able to compensate you for your work!

Visit the official Anomos blog or check out the source.
